Operations Assistant

Job Description
The Operations Assistant supports the day-to-day physical upkeep and operational needs of the church and its programs. This role is hands-on and practical, helping to maintain clean, organised and well-resourced spaces. Working closely with the Operations Administrator, the Operations Assistant ensures that facilities, resources, and shared areas are cared for so that our ministries and events can run smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
Facilities & Cleaning
- Clean and maintain fridges under the server weekly.
- Conduct general kitchen cleaning, including operating the sterilizer.
- Clean microwaves and attend to ad-hoc cleaning tasks as required.
- Tidy and maintain the prayer room.
- Change the breadbasket cloth weekly.
- Tidy campus cubbies and shared storage areas.
- Clean, organize, and maintain lost property.
- Reset Hot Drinks in the Cafe weekly.
- Execute long-term maintenance, such as cleaning auditorium chairs.
Stocking & Resources
- Unpack laundry and ensure items are stored correctly.
- Restock the hygiene cupboard weekly.
- Restock kitchen supplies, including biscuits, tea, and coffee sachets.
- Restock Sunday Team snacks weekly (Worship and Media team boxes).
- Restock ministry boxes as required.
- Unpack incoming orders and distribute items, coordinating delivery times with the Operations Administrator.
- Keep the resource room and events cupboard organized and up to date.
Administration & Support
- Open the door and warmly welcome people to the church.
- Check the PO Box weekly and distribute mail.
- Support staff with Sunday Prep, including printing resources, lanyard organization, coffee orders, and signage.
- Assist with general operational "odd jobs" such as updating posters or minor reorganizing.

- Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and follow established routines.
- Willingness to assist with a wide variety of tasks as needed.
- Friendly, approachable, and aligned with church values and culture.
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with the Operations Administrator.

- Be a fully committed member of the Grace Vineyard team serving the church and community.
- Execute all tasks relevant to church goals and objectives as assigned by leadership.
